you are not per·fec·t

Updated: Jan 13, 2022

You are not perfect.

You have never been—and will never be—perfect.

It’s about honouring your faults, welcoming your flaws, and finding gratitude for your imperfections.

It’s about accepting who you are, while respecting who you choose to become.

It’s about embracing your past, while finding confidence in your present.

It’s about appreciating what is, while choosing to awaken to what can be.

It’s about valuing your growth, while recognizing where you’ve already been.

It’s about deciding to surrender, while discovering your strength.

It’s about respecting your boundaries, while refusing to accept your preconceived limitation. It’s about acknowledging your experience, while having awareness of your unknown.

It’s about considering the path that lead you here, while ruminating about the path set before you, now;

let be wandering, let it be divergent,

let it be convoluted, bumpy, and untraveled—

let it be your own.

Remove your expectation of perfection.

For it’s about understanding,

That with time, you will find your way;

That with time, you will learn to accept;

That with time, you will relinquish control;

That with time, you will welcome your imperfection.

As it is within imperfection you find grace in expansion.

You are not perfect.

You have never been—and will never be—perfect.

Remove your expectation of perfection.

And lean in to grace in expansion.
